What is the Choir Leaders' Choir?
It's an informal collective of people who run choirs, created for the single purpose of bringing choir leaders together to sing.
As choir leaders, we know what singers get from singing in a choir. It's fun, it's sociable, it's challenging and rewarding. The idea behind Choir Leaders' Choir is for us to reap those benefits ourselves - to come together to form an occasional, informal choir of our own, and to sing for the pleasure of singing.
A chance for choir leaders to get together and sing
Each "get-together" is hosted by a different member of the Choir Leaders' Choir. Within the get-together, several members will lead different portions of the day - and when they're not leading, they're part of the choir, just like everyone else. The content of each portion is up to the choir leader leading it - it could be sight-singing a newly-written piece, it could be learning a folk song from a different culture by ear, it could be singing through well-established repertoire. Anything goes, as long as it involves everyone singing together.
If you are a choir leader and would like to join us, there are two ways you can do so.
